The Remix Dance competitive teams are regional and national award-winning. This program is offered to dancers who want to advance their technique, performance, drive, discipline, dedication, focus and passion. Our program aims to instill in each member the importance of upholding commitments, challenging oneself, working hard, achieving goals, and being a team player. Aside from gaining these values and skills, dancers also gain a lot of confidence, have more performance opportunities, make priceless memories, build lifelong friendships, and become a part of a great family atmosphere. If you want to take your dancing to the next level then a competitive team is for you!
Audition Schedule
THE AUDITION
- The audition consists of students learning choreography taught by a Remix instructor.
- You don't have to invent your own dance or dance alone for our auditions.
- Students will perform the choreography they learned in different groups in order for the instructor(s) to evaluate them.
- From there our Dance Director will assess the dancers and place them in the correct level and group
- Parents will then be contacted within the following week as to placement we feel is best for their child!
- The audition fee is 25$. Cash or cheque will be accepted.
You don’t need to register for the auditions in advance, you can just show up and pay the 25$ audition fee on the spot!
When you arrive at the auditions, you will be asked to fill out a form. You will be able to select what options you are interested in auditioning for. For example:
What are you auditioning for?
1 - Competitive Crew only. You will be practicing in Rockland every week.
2- New Mega Crew. You will be practicing in Rockland every week. This will be an extra class, separate from your competitive crew. Dancers must be part of a competitive crew in order to be part of this team.
3- Solo, Duet or Trio. You will be practicing in Rockland every week. This will be an extra class, separate from your competitive crew. Dancers must be part of a competitive crew in order to be part of on of these.
4- I am interested in all of the above.
Competitive dancers perform at all the Remix Shows, attend 3 dance competitions and have their own professional photo shoot. Regular practices are 2 hours long, once a week in Rockland only.
