Terms and Conditions

TUITION

Tuition is due on THE FIRST OF EACH MONTH regardless of when your first class of the month falls. Remix Dance Academy does not mail out reminders or bills for tuition. It is the customer’s responsibility to notify Remix of any changes in their payment information. Any unpaid balance may result in a student's removal from classes.

When you enroll a dancer at this studio, you are enrolling for an entire season. Fees are based on the number of hours per class per week. Payment options are listed below. There is a $25.00 late charge on all payments that have not been received after Oct. 1st.  Please mark dancer(s) first and last name in the memo area on your check.

REFUND POLICY

There will be a $25.00 administrative fee applied to all refunds issued throughout the year.  Partial refund is possible if the request is made no later than the beginning of the third class.  After that date, no refunds will be authorized.

Paid tuition is non-refundable.  There are no refunds given for missed classes, due to bad weather or other student absences.  Costume fees will not be refunded after October 15th .

NSF CHEQUES

A $25.00 fee will be charged for each returned check.  After 1 returned check, cash will be requested. Students with tuition in arrears will not be allowed to participate in the year end shows.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP POLICIES

Small children need to be escorted to and from the dance class. Please do not encourage your dancer to find you out in the parking lot. Never leave your dancer unattended in any part of the school, at any time.

Students should not be dropped off more than 15 minutes before their class time begins. Students under the age of 7 must not be dropped off any sooner than 5 minutes before their class time begins without parental supervision and are not allowed to leave the school without parental permission. They must wait inside the school until they are picked up. Students must always be picked up on time unless previously approved by the studio director.

Brothers, sisters, boyfriends and friends are not allowed to be loitering in the school while classes are being held.  Only parents can be in the school while the classes are running.

INJURIES

Parents, legal guardians of minors, students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after class time.

SICKNESS / INJURY

In the event of a dancer falling ill, please keep them home from class in order to reduce the chance of spreading the illness. If a dancer is injured they are encouraged to observe class.

ATTENDANCE / ABSENCES

Attendance is taken at each class. Good attendance is very important to each dancer’s success, as well as the progress of the class as a whole. Please make every effort to ensure that your child attends class every week.

Missing classes is inevitable, but excessive absences can become a problem.  If a dancer is struggling because he or she missed too many classes and the instructor feels it is necessary, your child may be dismissed from the course.  In any case, no refunds will be allocated.

CLASS PLACEMENT

Dancers are placed according to age and ability. If a child is more advanced, a higher level of class may be needed to strengthen the dancer’s ability and give them more of a challenge. In most cases, dancers are with others of their own age.

Dancers are not placed because of friendships or how long they have been dancing. They are being placed strictly by the level of technique that they demonstrate on a weekly basis. A child is placed in a class where he/she will feel confident in order to promote the highest level of self-esteem.  Please trust the staff’s years of experience in the decision for class placement.

We are professionals and always act in the best interest of the dancer. Dancers progress at different levels and advancing a dancer before they are ready can create stress, a loss of interest and discouragement.

PARENT OBSERVATION

Parents are not allowed to watch or sit in while class is in progress.

Parents will be invited to observe their child's dance class(es) for one week at the end of January. The dates of this open house will be announced in our first newsletter and posted on the Remix website in the Winter.
